This imagery of newborn infants highlights the necessity of nurturing one's faith and dependence on God's Word, which is described as living and enduring (1 Peter 2:2-3). The chapter also references Psalm 34:8, inviting believers to taste and see that the Lord is good, reinforcing the idea of experiencing God's goodness personally.
