Babylon
Babylon was a major city located on the Euphrates River, known for its impressive walls and the Hanging Gardens, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Babylon was the capital of the Neo-Babylonian Empire and a center of power and culture during the time of Daniel. It was the site of the famous feast of Belshazzar and the subsequent fall of the Babylonian Empire to the Medes and Persians.
Babylon is often depicted in the Bible as a symbol of human pride and opposition to God. It was a place of exile for the Israelites and a setting for significant prophetic visions.
Babylon represents the transient nature of earthly kingdoms and the ultimate sovereignty of God over human history. The fall of Babylon in Daniel 5 illustrates God's judgment against pride and idolatry.
