Genesis Chapter 13 recounts the story of Abram (later known as #Abraham) and his nephew Lot as they return to the land of Canaan after their time in Egypt. The chapter begins with Abram's wealth in livestock, silver, and gold, which had increased during their stay in Egypt. However, the abundance of their possessions leads to strife between Abram's herdsmen and Lot's herdsmen, highlighting the challenges of living in close proximity when resources are limited. To resolve the conflict, Abram demonstrates remarkable humility and generosity by allowing Lot to choose the land he prefers.
