Overview
The Book of John opens with a profound declaration of the divinity of Jesus Christ in Chapter 1. It begins with the famous phrase, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" (John 1:1). This establishes Jesus, referred to as the #Word, as eternal and coexistent with God the Father, emphasizing His divine nature. The chapter continues to affirm that all things were made through Him, highlighting His role in creation and underscoring the belief that Jesus is not just a historical figure but the very source of life and light for humanity. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5), illustrating the victory of Christ over sin and evil.
