Overview
Matthew Chapter 1 begins with a detailed genealogy of Jesus Christ, tracing His lineage from #Abraham through #David to #Joseph, His earthly father. This genealogy is significant as it establishes Jesus as the fulfillment of the #OldTestament prophecies regarding the Messiah, linking Him to the royal line of David. The structure of the genealogy is carefully arranged into three sets of fourteen generations, which not only emphasizes the importance of Jesus' birth but also highlights God's faithfulness in keeping His covenant promises throughout history.
