- Proverbs 26:26
Though their hatred is covered by deception, their wickedness will be exposed publicly.
This verse appears in a sequence of Proverbs warning against fools, sluggards, and deceivers (Proverbs 26:1–28). Verses 23–26 contrast flattering, deceitful speech with the hidden hatred and wicked intent of some people; verse 26 asserts that hidden wickedness does not remain hidden forever but will be revealed.

Fulfilled inActs 5:1-11
Acts 5 records Ananias and Sapphira, who presented a false appearance of generosity while privately lying about the proceeds of a sale. Their deceit was disclosed by the Spirit through Peter, and their hypocrisy was exposed publicly when they fell dead before the assembled believers—an explicit narrative instance of hidden wickedness being revealed.
This proverb affirms a recurring biblical theme: God exposes hypocrisy and hidden sin. The truth that hidden motives and deeds will be brought to light undergirds biblical calls to integrity and warns against the temporary safety of deceit. The exposure of wickedness serves God's justice, vindicates the righteous community, and points forward to final judgment when all secret deeds will be disclosed.
