Prophetic Fulfillments — Psalms 15

1 fulfillment

  1. Prophecy in
    • Psalm 15:5

Such a person will never be shaken.

    Context

Psalm 15 is an entry-poem asking who may dwell in the LORD's sanctuary and on his holy hill. Verses 1–4 list moral and communal qualities required of the person who may live in God's presence; verse 5 concludes with a promise of stability for such a person.

    Fulfillment
    • future

Psalm 15:5 is a predictive assurance that the person who lives according to the listed righteous behaviors will not be shaken. Scripture repeatedly affirms the theme of the righteous being established or unshakable (for example, Psalm 125:1; Psalm 16:8; Hebrews 12:28 applies the idea corporately to believers receiving an unshakable kingdom). However, the Bible does not record a single narrative fulfilment that demonstrates every person who meets the Psalm’s conditions was thereby, in history, never shaken. Therefore, according to the rule that a fulfilment must be a recorded accomplished fact in Scripture, this line is best classified as future/ongoing — a present promise and expectation within Scripture’s redemptive framework rather than a discrete historical event recorded and tied to this single verse.

    Theological significance

Psalm 15 frames fellowship with God in terms of ethical holiness and relational integrity; the closing promise that such a person 'will never be shaken' connects personal righteousness and communal fidelity to divine security. This theme contributes to the Bible’s larger teaching that God preserves and establishes those who trust and walk blamelessly before him (see Psalm 16:8; Psalm 125:1) and anticipates the unshakable kingdom believers receive (Hebrews 12:28). The verse therefore functions as both an ethical incentive for holy living and a theological assurance of God’s sustaining presence for those who dwell with him.
