Susa
Susa was one of the ancient capitals of the Persian Empire, located in present-day Iran.
Susa is the setting for much of the Book of Esther, including the events of Esther 9 where the Jews defend themselves against their enemies.
As a royal city, Susa was a center of political power and cultural exchange in the Persian Empire.
Susa represents the place where God’s providence and protection of His people are manifested, even in a foreign land.
