Aaron acts as the mouthpiece for Moses, speaking to Pharaoh on behalf of God. He performs the sign of the staff turning into a serpent and stretches out his hand over the waters of Egypt to turn them into blood.
Ruler of Egypt and antagonist in the narrative.
Pharaoh's heart is hardened, and he refuses to let the Israelites go, despite witnessing the signs and wonders performed by Moses and Aaron. His resistance sets the stage for the plagues that follow.
