Saul is instructed by God, through Samuel, to completely destroy the Amalekites and all they possess. However, Saul spares King Agag and the best of the livestock, leading to his rejection as king by God.
Prophet of God who delivers God's message to Saul.
Samuel conveys God's command to Saul and later confronts him about his disobedience. He declares that God has rejected Saul as king and ultimately executes King Agag.
King of the Amalekites spared by Saul.
Agag is the king of the Amalekites whom Saul spares, contrary to God's command. He is later executed by Samuel.
